BEETHOVEN
The name is
synonymous with a giant slobbery St. Bernard, but there is a much more
influential figure that I’m talking about…Ludwig van Beethoven is one of the
world’s greatest and most famous composers. With over 9 symphonies, 32 sonatas,
5 concertos, and 16 string quartets, Beethoven is considered a musical genius.
The work that goes
into creating even one piece of music is incredibly difficult to say the least.
Every instrument has an incredibly important role to play in each piece. In fact,
each piece of music is written specifically for the sound that every instrument
makes.
Regardless of the
role that the instrument plays within the entire piece, there is always an
importance of all the instruments together as a whole to produce the finished
sound.
Now, I understand
that our industry doesn’t have as beautiful a sound as one of Beethoven’s
symphonies, but we do work together like a giant orchestra. From the harp to
the cello to the xylophone, we all have a role to play in order to complete the
piece. Each person has a distinct role to play as does each instrument in an
orchestra.
Regardless of the
type of music, we are the garage rock group, the marching band, and the high
school ensemble. We create the symphony and all have a role to play, but
without the hard work and dedication from one another, we don’t have the
finished sound.
