When life throws dirt your way

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The donkey cried miserably for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, the farmer decided that the animal was old and he would put him out of his misery. He invited his neighbors to come over and help cover the old well and say goodbye to the hardworking donkey. They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
The donkey realized what was happening and continued crying, but within minutes and to everyone's amazement he quieted down. As the dirt began to pile up, the farmer looked sadly into the well, but was shocked at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that fell into the well, the donkey would shake it off his back and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt into the well, the donkey took more steps towards the top. Pretty soon everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off.

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, All kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells, just by not stopping, never giving up. Shake it off and take a step up.
